Grounds Lakes Landscaping Improvements
Our Lakes: Osprey, Cormorant, Egret and Heron
In 2015 the Restoration of the Shore zone in Three Lakes within Lakeshore Village project began to restore lake bank protection and stabilization in three of our lakes using Bank Erosion Stabilization Tubes. This will improve the water quality through a reduction and absorption of chemicals from herbicide and pesticide treatment of our laws and landscaping. The LSV residents received an indepth education about this process and participated in supporting the newly planted plants and geotextile tubing. In 2017, Dr. Abbey Tyrna of the Sarasota County Environment Dept. spoke about "Our Lakes and The Value of Aquatic Plants." Dr. Tyrna emphasized the need to enrich and maintain the health of our beautiful lakes and steps we can take towards that end.
Currently we are in the process of repainting our Victorian Lightpoles and retrofitting our sodium lighting to new LED lighting, as well as changing the globes to enhance the lighting. At the April 18th the Board voted to begin to sand and repaint the lightpoles and that will be done over the summer, as well as install new LED lighting and globes which will be done next Fall.
Driveway Replacements are on schedule. The schedule is posted on the Clubhouse bulletin board and below.
In February 2016 driveway evaluations were completed. The Driveway Rating Numberical Spreadsheet is posted below. The first column number is a rank order from 1 to 195 with the lowest rated driveway rated as #1, i.e., the first driveway scheduled to be replaced. The 3 digits in front of the address are the score given to that driveway out of a maximum score of 200. Several driveways scored 200--these being the most recent ones replaced. The cost of replacing the driveways is based on the square footage. The number of driveways replaced each year depends on the size and cost and the money budgeted.
